Food and Beverage Business Webinar
There are many types of business out there, and entrepreneurs are getting more discerning in their choice – the most popular of which is the food and beverage business. In Indonesia, food and beverage businesses are thriving.
On Thursday 27 May 2021, Raffles College, as an International Campus in Jakarta, hosted a food and beverage business webinar. The objective of the webinar was to inspire students to develop their entrepreneurial skills. The theme was “How to build a long-term and successful food and beverage business”.
The speaker at this webinar was Ricky Raynaldi, the founder and CEO of the J.R. Raynaldi Group, a company with a group of restaurants located in Semarang, Central Java. Ricky started his entrepreneurship journey in food and beverage business with the support of his family.
Ricky used to work at a popular fast food restaurant back in Melbourne, Australia, while he was studying for his master’s degree. His first restaurant was a modern dining restaurant with a combination of Western and Asian menus, called The Savory.
The success of The Savory led him to open a second restaurant with a similar concept in a different location. His second restaurant was The Savory Ribs & Coffee Co. After three years Ricky started his first café concept restaurant called Keva Café. The café, with Instagram spots, was designed to follow the social media trend.
Now there are seven brands in the J.R Raynaldi Group – and in 2021 Ricky is going to launch seven new digital brands. Ricky’s advice to entrepreneurs who wants to start their own food and beverage business is to trust and enjoy the process, because it is a marathon not a sprint.
